Po­lice blitz on un­li­censed driv­ing

MOSS­MAN and Port Dou­glas Po­lice are re­mind­ing peo­ple to check ve­hi­cle and li­cence ex­piry dates and mak­ing sure your ve­hi­cle is in­sured af­ter in­ter­cept­ing nine ve­hi­cles in three days driv­ing around the re­gion un­reg­is­tered and unin­sured. A 39-year-old Ju­lat­ten woman was in- ter­cepted on Cap­tain Cook High­way near Craiglie driv­ing un­reg­is­tered and unin­sured on Oc­to­ber 16 around 1pm. The fol­low­ing af­ter­noon around 5pm, a 45-year-old Moss­man was in­ter­cepted in South Moss­man driv­ing un­reg­is­tered, unin­sured and with can­celled plates and then around 9.45pm a 22-year-old Port Dou­glas woman was in­ter­cepted on Port Dou­glas Rd driv­ing an un­reg­is­tered, unin­sured ve­hi­cle. Mean­while in Port Dou­glas, four peo­ple were given no­tices to ap­pear in court for driv­ing un­reg­is­tered and unin­sured ve- hi­cles around Port Dou­glas. All five peo­ple are go­ing to the Moss­man Mag­is­trate’s Court on Novem­ber 11 or 21 and for more in­for­ma­tion about re­new­ing li­cences and reg­is­tra­tion contact the Depart­ment of Main Roads and Trans­port www.tmr.qld.gov.au.
