Million dollar Port welcome
PORT Douglas this week welcomed the first of 60 VIP guests from Indonesia’s ADR group of companies, winner of Tourism Queensland’s Million Dollar Memo promotion.
The company will reward more than 300 staff and clients with $1 million in Queensland incentive experiences exclusively tailored for it.
ADR group of companies Export Manager Albert Arifin said the promotion was paying off not just for his business, but the whole of Queensland.
“We have helped promote Cairns and wider region through our global network of clients in over 100 countries, producing brochures and calendars to encourage clients to consider Queensland as a destination for corporate incentives,” he said.
“During our trip, we have started simply by using the power of social media and uploading loads of pictures of our experiences to Facebook.”
Before embarking on Quicksilver to experience a day snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef, Mr Arifin spoke of his expectations for the imaginative Tourism Queensland Incentive campaign.
“This is not only a fantastic opportunity for us to experience what’s on offer here in Tropical North Queensland, but to promote the wonderful activities on offer to our wide network of customers,” Mr Arifin said.
“On this trip we have clients from Russia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Dubai, and hopefully they will go on to promote the region to their clients and customers and so on, it’s a great strategy.”
The initiative forms part of a five-year incentive strategy aimed at positioning Queensland as number one destination for corporate travel incentives.
