Mil­lion dol­lar Port wel­come

PORT Dou­glas this week wel­comed the first of 60 VIP guests from In­done­sia’s ADR group of com­pa­nies, win­ner of Tourism Queens­land’s Mil­lion Dol­lar Memo pro­mo­tion.

The com­pany will re­ward more than 300 staff and clients with $1 mil­lion in Queens­land in­cen­tive ex­pe­ri­ences ex­clu­sively tai­lored for it.

ADR group of com­pa­nies Ex­port Man­ager Al­bert Arifin said the pro­mo­tion was pay­ing off not just for his busi­ness, but the whole of Queens­land.

“We have helped pro­mote Cairns and wider re­gion through our global net­work of clients in over 100 coun­tries, pro­duc­ing brochures and cal­en­dars to en­cour­age clients to con­sider Queens­land as a des­ti­na­tion for cor­po­rate in­cen­tives,” he said.

“Dur­ing our trip, we have started sim­ply by us­ing the power of so­cial me­dia and up­load­ing loads of pic­tures of our ex­pe­ri­ences to Face­book.”

Be­fore em­bark­ing on Quick­sil­ver to ex­pe­ri­ence a day snorkelling on the Great Bar­rier Reef, Mr Arifin spoke of his ex­pec­ta­tions for the imag­i­na­tive Tourism Queens­land In­cen­tive cam­paign.

“This is not only a fan­tas­tic op­por­tu­nity for us to ex­pe­ri­ence what’s on of­fer here in Trop­i­cal North Queens­land, but to pro­mote the won­der­ful ac­tiv­i­ties on of­fer to our wide net­work of cus­tomers,” Mr Arifin said.

“On this trip we have clients from Rus­sia, Sri Lanka, Sin­ga­pore, Dubai, and hope­fully they will go on to pro­mote the re­gion to their clients and cus­tomers and so on, it’s a great strat­egy.”

The ini­tia­tive forms part of a five-year in­cen­tive strat­egy aimed at po­si­tion­ing Queens­land as num­ber one des­ti­na­tion for cor­po­rate travel in­cen­tives.
