Help­ing stops bark­ing

I WAS dis­tressed to read your ar­ti­cle on the “Threat to kill fam­ily pets” (Gazette, Oc­to­ber 18).

My hus­band and I have had a sim­i­lar ex­pe­ri­ence when we had our dogs.

We got a visit from Dog Con­trol com­plain­ing about our dogs bark­ing.

I would have been more than happy to hear from the neigh­bour we were up­set­ting so we could have rec­ti­fied the prob­lem.

To this neigh­bour I think it would be nice if he came for­ward and talked to the cou­ple, as col­lie dogs thrive on ex­er­cise and at­ten­tion and can be very needy.

If these neigh­bours are at home dur­ing the day per­haps they would be in a po­si­tion to walk these dogs while the own­ers are at work, or if
