MUD­DIES Blue make it three from three and hunt­ing an out­right vic­tory against Mul­grave at Fretwell Park.

Af­ter los­ing the toss, Adam Lu­cas opened the bowl­ing and was de­mol­ish­ing as usual and was re­warded with a great hat trick with a bowled, LBW and bowled again he even man­aged to break the bail.

Lu­cas fin­ished with top fig­ures of 6-14 off 10 overs.

The bat­tle for top bowler in the team was well un­der way and Dan­ger­ous Dave John­son also got in on the act with fig­ures of 4-9 off 10.

The Mud­dies Blue had Mul­grave all out for 25.

Both Lu­cas and John­son were well re­warded for full and straight bowl­ing with seven out of the 10 wick­ets to fall be­ing bowled or LBW.

The Mud­dies had their tar­get and knew ex­actly what to do, Sam Hodgson and Rob Gaul opened the bat­ting and made the to­tal in five overs, skip­per Cody let the boys carry on as they were go­ing at six over and hav­ing some fun.

Rob Gaul brought up 50 in 41 balls and smashed the last 33 of those runs off 13 balls.

The open­ers made a great part­ner­ship of 84 be­fore Gaul was caught out on 52. Hodgson played a very con­trolled and cal­cu­lated 26 not out.

The skip­per Cody called the boys in at the fall of the wicket and sent Mul­grave back in for the sec­ond time in one day.

With first in­nings points in the bag the skip­per had some free­dom to al­low other blow­ers to get in on the act.

Vic Chan­dra opened the bowl­ing and was re­warded in his first over to fin­ish with fig­ures of 2-13 off six overs.

Gary Postans and his first bowl for the club and got his first wicket with a spec­tac­u­lar caught and bowled and fin­ished with fig­ures of 2-9 off four overs.

It was all Dave John­son in the sec­ond in­nings tak­ing 4-1 off three overs and is look­ing in great form for the club.

The day’s play was fin­ished and Mul­grave were 8-24 still chas­ing the Mud­dies Blue first in­nings score of 84.
