Man charged after glassing
A 21-YEAR-OLD Mossman man has been charged after allegedly smashing a Port Douglas man in the head with a glass.
The 35-year-old Port Douglas man’s neck was cut in the attack at Paddy’s Irish Pub last Saturday night.
The glassing incident occurred after a verbal altercation between the men about 11pm, which also resulted in two men being charged with public nuisance after the event.
Paddy’s part-owner Danny Gray, who also manages Rattle ‘n’ Hum, said the alleged offender will be banned from every pub signed up to the Port Douglas Liquor Accord.
‘‘We don’t want that sort of stuff happening in Port, there’s no need for it especially in a town like this,’’ he said.
‘‘It’s not acceptable and won’t be tolerated - he won’t be showing his face in this town.’’
Licensed businesses in the Port Douglas Liquor Accord also include the Iron Bar, Central and Court House.
