CRC’s new corporate structure

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - NEWS -

CAIRNS Regional Council has announced a new corporate structure.

A chief financial officer will lead a newly-created finance department while the former economic development council committee will be absorbed into the planning committee.

Mayor Bob Manning said the centralised and spec- ialised finance department will oversee expenditure across all departments to improve accountability and streamline accounting processes.

Human resources and organisational change will form a separate department, while the economic development and innovation unit will transfer into the planning and environment department.

The economic development committee will now become the planning economic committee.
