Officer in charge
NEW Mossman ambulance officer-in-charge Michelle Boulcer means business - the business of helping people in need and keeping the community safe.
While only two weeks into the job, Ms Boulcer has brought with her 13 years experience in the ambulance service, previously working in various places including Port Douglas, Tablelands and Toowoomba before making her way to Mossman.
Apart from enjoying the beauty of the region, Ms Boulcer said the most rewarding part of her job so far is being able to help people and working with a great team.
‘‘I really like the patient side of my job, helping people and also the camaraderie that comes from our job and interaction with other services,’’ she said.
‘‘It has been a great experience meeting some of the staff I am working with, everyone is friendly, eager to help out and are focused on looking after our patients.’’
Having been born in Cairns and also working previously in Port Douglas, Ms Boulcer is familiar with the area and believes she is the right woman for the job.
‘‘I bring a commitment to the people of Mossman and surrounds of delivering high quality service at all times,’’ she said.
‘‘I am keen to work with the community and build a good relationship - 90 per cent of our job is good communication skills, having empathy and compassion and I am bringing leadership and a focus on good patient care.’’
