Lucky little mascots

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - SPORT -

SIX Douglas Dragons aged between five and six were mascots last weekend for the new soccer club Far North Queensland Football Club seniors.

Lachlan Morrison, Oliver Staines, Luka Govorka, Adrelle Frizelle, Kai North and Rory Spanton ran out on to the field in their Douglas colours and formed a tunnel out to the pitch for the seniors as they entered the oval.

Coach Adrian North said they were so excited to walk out of the tunnel onto the pitch with the 2500 fans banging down on the sides and making noise.

FNQ FC start from Under12s, so all of the boys could have a chance to play with the new club, which is aiming to reach the national level.

North said they will are trying to organise for the boys to play a game at half time the next time FNQ FC play.
