Gateway not greedway

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - LETTERS -

I’M GLAD the scaremongering didn’t work (boo) and we all have our towns back away from big cities. The whole idea was absurd to start with and so it proved in many many ways. All we need now is new young mayor and a council open to fresh ideas from local input and not from big rich one-eyed monsters who spoiled Port - and want to concrete everything. We have been discovered as a special place and area and should build on praises by calling Mossman ‘‘The Gateway to the Daintree’’, which means that a bus service is so badly needed for locals and tourists is run at local prices, not for big profits. Every visitor I’ve spoken to cannot believe there’s nowhere updated or easy to park their big vans so that they can hop on a bus to anywhere and travel like a local, a service provided in most third world countries. May we hope that item is on someone’s list if they really care. We have been neglected long enough.
