MOSSMAN Golf Club has welcomed some new staff into the family with open arms.

Bringing something a little fresh to the club is new general manager Charles Hegedus.

Mr Hegedus has 30 years experience in club management and said he was delighted to join the club.

‘‘There has been a lot of maintenance work to the course and it really shows because it is looking fantastic,’’ he said.

‘‘I’m here to help to create a good social atmosphere and build up membership numbers.

‘‘We really want to invite people to come down and experience the new course for themselves.’’

In addition to a new general manager, the club has also secured a new friendly larrikin chef to feed the hungry mouths after an intense round of golf.

The blonde behind the tongs Renee Stubbs said the Meschie Bistro is open for dinner Friday and Saturday evenings.

‘‘For those discerning diners looking for a wholesome home cooked meal packed with flavour at affordable prices, from lambs fry with bacon and onion gravy, to a succulent steak with creamy garlic prawn topper, the bistro is the place to be,’’ she said.

‘‘ Whether you want to dine in amongst the cane toads and the tranquil back drop of the beautifully manicured greens of the golf club or a quick takeaway, we can manage both. We sit amongst a wonderful food bowl of exotic fruits and produce, most of which I try to incorporate into my dishes.’’
