Try tradies to win
GAZETTE readers who support local businesses are being given the chance to win a $200 cash prize in the ‘‘Try Our Tradies and Win’’ promotion.
Readers who have at least $200 of work done by a business listed in the trades and services directory of the Gazette simply need to fill out the coupon, post or drop it into the Gazette office and provide proof of payment for services to be eligible to win.
Gazette managing editor Greg McLean said it was a great way to reward readers for supporting local businesses.
‘‘ There’s so many excellent small businesses in our community and this is just our way of helping promote what they do,’’ he said.
‘‘For the lucky winners it might mean they can afford to get something else done around the house or fix up their car.’’
One lucky winner will be drawn every month for the $200 monthly prize.
Port Douglas Automotive owner Brendan Wynne said the promotion is a fantastic idea.
‘‘It is important for us all to support the local businesses,’’ he said.
‘‘It keeps money in the town and people employed if we all support each other. I have a really great local customer base and this promotion is a great way for them to get something back.’’
