Under-15s muscle up in nailbiter but fall just short

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - CLASSIFIEDS -

THE Under-15s had great help with six extra players turning up giving for the first time this year a bench to play with.

The game was played in extremely wet conditions with the Mossman boys showing heart and character to defy the Ivanhoes massive forward pack from scoring any points for the first few minutes of the game and it was actually the Sharks who scored the first points.

The game was a very tight struggle all the way with only six points between the sides.

Josh Fasano took Man of the Match honours and is now showing signs of becoming a consistent front rower.

Douglas Parkes played well until he succumbed to a knee strain and with a switch in positions with Levi Williams slotting back to fullback and Daniel Dowling going into the halfback, Mossman went on the rampage through solid attacking and stinging defence.

The best tackle of the day went to Lester Port who will be talking about his bellringer for many years to come.

Mossman went down by two points in the last five minutes but with at least two more players to come back have now got a team and look forward to the rest of the season.
