Bad girls, behaving worse

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FRONT PAGE -

LATE night revellers of the fairer sex are behaving rather badly, passing out in the streets and fighting among themselves.

There have been several reported incidents recently where young women are so intoxicated they are causing fights with oth- ers, do not know where they are, assaulting bus drivers and even being found passed out in the Coles underground carpark. Over the last four weeks, Tony Ritter from Adrenalin Bus Service said he has had eight or nine incidents on his bus involving women behav- ing badly. ‘‘The people you would expect to have trouble from on the bus have been so well-mannered and well-behaved, while the women are just losing control,’’ he said. ‘‘It is horrible to hear how they are talking to one another, calling each other names and even one woman hitting another for speaking to her boyfriend on the bus.

‘‘I just really think women need to look after each other more, where are these intoxicated girls’ friends and why are they being found passed out in random places?’’
