Helping keep paradise plastice-free
PORT Douglas State School students are doing their part to spread the message about the harmful effects of plastic bags on marine life as part of the Think Outside the Bag project.
The project is being run by the Cairns and Far North Enviroment Centre in partnership with Tangora Blue and the Douglas Shire Sustainability Group.
During the past school term Reef Guardian students from the school have been learning about the harmful effects of plastic bags and other marine debris affecting their community.
The students have created posters relating to the issue that can be seen until the end of May at the Port Douglas Kiosk (located in the Community Centre).
