Unconditional love the perfect reward for mum
‘‘BEING a mum is very, very rewarding, especially the unconditional love.
I loved watching my children, Renae, Shontelle and Anthony, grow up and turning out to be wonderful adults and being part of their life every step of the way. One of my fondest memories is watching them play. We used to have a cattle trough in the backyard and all three kids loved swimming in it, they all got on really well and played beautifully together.
My children are still very close, two live here and the eldest lives in New Zealand.
It’s hard having her overseas and we miss her terribly, they say it gets easier but it doesn’t, she’s been over there for nine years now.
Being a grandmother surpasses everything, it’s the best feeling in the world. I didn’t think it would be, but it’s pretty special. It’s nice to have a baby back in the house, they are big time-wasters because you can sit there and watch him and play with him all day, it’s a breath of fresh air.
It is so different from being a mum and it’s just the love they give you without thinking it’s beautiful, he calls me Juejue which is something weird and wonderful.’’
