KIND high tea time
TREAT your mum to a whole weekend of Mother’s Day love by attending the Kids In Need of Donations Mother’s Day High Tea at Harrisons restaurant next Saturday.
The high tea is a good chance to break out nanna’s prized china and be in with a chance to win the best tea cup competition with a fabulous prize of a sublime spa treatment.
KIND was established in 2008 in the Douglas region as a not-for-profit organisation, by local people for local people, to help raise, administer and distribute funds to assist children in need of support who have been diagnosed with a terminal or debilitating illness or injury.
KIND assists affected children and their families with discreet, immediate, short term and long term support and bridges the gap between the childs needs and the assistance provided by external agencies, that government and other agencies may not be able to provide.
To date, KIND has raised over $ 100,000 for local kids in need through continuous fundraising efforts and it is hope this special Mother’s Day high tea will be well supported.
KIND secretary Jenny White said it will be a perfect opportunity to treat mums to something special.
‘‘Come and take your mum out for tea, catch up with friends and help raise money for KIND,’’ she said.
‘‘For such a small community, the Douglas region has always been really generous and helped out.
‘‘And thanks to the bubbly generosity of Harrisons, there will be a free glass of bubbles on arrival.’’
The event will see lovely fresh sandwiches, tea and coffee, lucky door prizes, a Bodies in Motion dance show, displays of Mother’s Day gift ideas from local businesses and a fantastic raffle where you will be in with a chance to win a voucher to one of 10 of the best restaurants in the region.
The high tea will be held at Harrisons on Saturday, May 11, from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.
Tickets are only $30 per person and must be pre-purchased. Contact Jenny White on 0407 159 379 or jenny—firstname.lastname@example.org and don’t forget to bring your best tea cup.
