MORE than $5000 in prizes will be up for grabs at the second annual St Augustine’s charity golf day later this month.

Every team is guaranteed a prize in the fourball ambrose event to be held at the Mossman Golf Club on Sunday, May 26, with outer reef trips, dinners, sports gear and much more up for grabs.

The fun day on the golf course is the primary school’s major fundraiser for the year with proceeds going towards much-needed equipment for students.

There will also be a prize for the bestdressed team as well as a raffle and activities on the course such as darts and a chipping competition.

Organiser Mark Geddes said the event was designed to be fun for all the family and includes a barbecue lunch.

‘‘It is probably one of the richest charity events in the Far North and is going to be a lot of fun,’’ he said.

‘‘Our event is a little different in the fact that every team will win something on the day and get to choose their own prizes.

‘‘The team that comes in first chooses their prize first, second place chooses second and so on - you could win a trip to the outer reef or you might end up with a stubby cooler.’’

Tickets are only $40 per person which includes golf and lunch. You can book as an individual or a team of four now at the Mossman Golf Course bar or pro shop by phoning 4098 2089.
