Lattitude 16 owners charged with multiple offences
PORT Douglas accommodation company Latitude 16 has been charged with 10 offences by the Office of Fair Trading and both directors Chris and Lorna Duffy have each been charged with the same offences.
In February the OFT started an investi- gation into the company and directors, conducting a raid on several Latitude 16 properties, seizing paperwork and computers.
The offences include four counts of making false or misleading representation that person making the representation has a sponsorship, approval or affiliation, four counts of restriction on remedy for reward or expense and one count of each corporation must ensure individual who perforsm activities of resident letting agent resides perma- nently as required and ensure another individual who is a resident letting agent or real estate agent is in charge of business at other place. Last Thursday the matters were heard in the Cairns Magistrates Court and adjourned to May 27 for further mention.
