QT to spice up 1st birthday bash

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FRONT PAGE - Jessie Tolson

EVERYONE loves a birthday party and one of the biggest of the year is nearly here with QT Port Douglas turning one on Saturday.

With her rosy staff and cheeky disposition, this is one birthday party you won’t want to miss.

To celebrate this milestone, QT is throwing a spicy fiesta, so skip the siesta and help the bouncing baby resort party the day away.

The Mexicana birthday party will be held poolside and in Estilo Lounge from the family-friendly time of noon to 5pm with a typical ‘‘QT-style’’ delicious barbecue and a defenceless pinata begging to be whacked open.

And a birthday party would not be complete without a birthday cake and some live music.

From 6pm until late the young at heart get to play, with some surprise entertainment and drink specials including margaritas, Coronas and jugs of tasty sangria.

Tasty Tex Mex food will be available for those feeling a little peckish and a DJ will be spinning tunes from 8pm.

QT’s director of sales Caroline Faber said they wanted to celebrate with the locals who have supported and embraced them.

‘‘The introduction of the brand to Port Douglas has been a fun year with many highlights and we want to recognise not only our milestone but also celebrate the destination,’’ she said.

‘‘Our spare key holders (VIPs) have been notified in advance of this event to clear the date because it is going to be something special and very QT.

‘‘QT has brought a positive and upbeat vibe back to Port Douglas that has injected a much needed approach to business confidence for the area.’’

This is a warm up for her ‘‘quinceanera’’ (sweet 15) a few years down the track.
