ONE of the most popular events at Carinivale is the Macrossan Street Parade.

A true community event in the finest tradition, the Macrossan Street Parade has long been a highlight of Port Douglas Carnivale and regularly draws crowds of thousands.

Come early and take advantage of the pre-parade entertainment.

Why wait until after the parade to experience the rides, food and market stalls and great live acts provided.

This year boasts an exciting line-up of floats with more than 30 expected to take part in the street parade themed ‘‘Carnivale - what it means to you.’’

The action begins at 4pm at Market Park, with entertainment, music, street theatre, market stalls, rides and amusements.

Other lead- up events include the Macrossen Cup at 6.15pm, the GBR Marathon Sprint Race at 6.45pm, with the Street Parade at 7pm.

The night finishes with a bang at 9pm with fireworks.
