Beach day bliss

BEACH Day of­fers a lively ar­ray of trop­i­cal sights, sounds and ac­tiv­i­ties.

The day kicks off at 6am, with a se­ries of awak­en­ing holis­tic ac­tiv­i­ties in­clud­ing med­i­ta­tion, yoga and tai chi, to re­vive and en­rich the soul.

From 9am the sport­ing events be­gin with a range of ac­tiv­i­ties on of­fer.

Take part in the novice out­rig­ger ca­noe­ing re­gatta, play beach cricket, try beach ten­nis and be amazed by a fan­tas­tic me­dieval joust­ing tour­na­ment.

There will be a ded­i­cated Kids Fun Zone with Bree and the Bop Stars host­ing the leg­endary sand­cas­tle com­pe­ti­tion, trea­sure hunt and gi­ant bouncy cas­tle.

The mar­ket place will be serv­ing food, re­fresh­ments and gifts on the Es­planade.

Lo­cal buskers, art hap­pen­ings, pony rides and street theatre per­form­ers will be all over the beach, and there will even be a sky­div­ing dis­play.

Held at the north­ern end of Four Mile Beach on Satur­day May 18.
