Top tasters at party
VIRGIN Australia Food Wine & A Taste of Port will feature 21 chefs from seven of the top restaurants in the tropics.
Taking place seaside under striking illuminated palm fronds on the foreshore at Rex Smeal Park, some of the region’s best restaurants will be represented with fine dining menus and the choicest of Australian and international beverages including Salsa Bar and Grill, Bel Cibo, Peppers Beach Club and Spa, Reef Catering, Salt House, Aqua and Port Douglas Catering.
In 2013 there’s an exciting new layout, double the number of restaurant stalls and different ticket options.
As well as the food and wine, there’ll be a fabulous line up of entertainment on the main stage throughout the night.
Stars of last year’s TV series The Voice, Mahalia Barnes and Prinnie Stevens, will be performing for the first time in Port Douglas supported by local artists Top Shelf, crooner Rhys Tolhurst and the Montgomery Brothers.
The theme this year has been inspired by the release of the Hollywood classic, The Great Gatsby, paying homage to ‘‘ the Roaring ’20s’’ with great prizes to be won for the best themed table and bestdressed.
Rex Smeal Park, Saturday May 18, 5.30pm to 11.00pm. Tickets $35, standing room only, and $45 seated available at www.foodandwinenq.com.
