THE Douglas Cluster Primary Schools’ cross- country event was held on Friday along Four Mile Beach.
Students ran either a 2km or 3km course over a diverse range of terrain, including parkland and on the beach.
The event was a selection trial for the regional cross-country championships to be held next Friday in Mareeba with the top four place-getters in each age group to attend the championships.
The students involved in the event proudly represented their school and all runners put in an outstanding effort to compete at a very high standard.
For the first time in history the school aggregate winner was a tie between two schools, Mossman and Port Douglas.
