Mossman fun run
MOSSMAN will host a fun run for the Indigenous Marathon Project on Sunday. The fun run is a way to encourage community members, particularly the indigenous community to get healthy and active. It is now in its second year under IMP and this week- end’s race will start at the Mossman Hospital at 8am. The fun run is a 3.5km run up to the Mossman Gorge church grounds where a free breakfast will be held for all participants followed by presentations. Medallions will be given to the fastest male and female of the juniors and seniors. Mossman Fun Run volunteer Larissa Walker encourages everyone to join in the run. ‘‘It is a free, fun event that gets the community together,’’ she said. ‘‘This is the second last fun run before the selections are made for the Uluru Community Champions trip in July.’’ The series unearths four community champions who are given the opportunity to represent their community at the Deadly Fun Run Championships at Uluru.
