Moss­man fun run

MOSS­MAN will host a fun run for the In­dige­nous Marathon Pro­ject on Sun­day. The fun run is a way to en­cour­age com­mu­nity mem­bers, par­tic­u­larly the in­dige­nous com­mu­nity to get healthy and ac­tive. It is now in its sec­ond year un­der IMP and this week- end’s race will start at the Moss­man Hos­pi­tal at 8am. The fun run is a 3.5km run up to the Moss­man Gorge church grounds where a free break­fast will be held for all par­tic­i­pants fol­lowed by pre­sen­ta­tions. Medal­lions will be given to the fastest male and fe­male of the ju­niors and se­niors. Moss­man Fun Run vol­un­teer Larissa Walker en­cour­ages ev­ery­one to join in the run. ‘‘It is a free, fun event that gets the com­mu­nity to­gether,’’ she said. ‘‘This is the sec­ond last fun run be­fore the selec­tions are made for the Uluru Com­mu­nity Cham­pi­ons trip in July.’’ The se­ries un­earths four com­mu­nity cham­pi­ons who are given the op­por­tu­nity to rep­re­sent their com­mu­nity at the Deadly Fun Run Cham­pi­onships at Uluru.
