A little bit of variety ... and Bob Marley
THE newest business in Mossman catering for indigenous and Torres Strait Islanders’ needs with traditional and contemporary goods is no stranger to the Far North.
Crowtex Imports already supplies shops in the Torres Strait and community stores throughout the Far North and has retail store in Cairns and the Tablelands.
Owner Rob Crowther said his motto is good quality products at good prices, and by cutting out the wholesalers he can pass on the savings.
‘‘We sell what you can’t buy anywhere else, it’s really a hotchpotch of everything,’’ he said.
‘‘We have plastic mats from Thailand, sweaters, Hawaiian shirts, island dresses and skirts for Aboriginal people and Mumu dresses.
‘‘Stuff for indigenous funerals, sorry time suits and clothing, Aboriginal and TI flags, clothes for boys and girls, christening suits and dresses and a lot of Bob Marley stuff.’’
Other items include artificial flowers, hair clips, fabrics, PNG music and DVDs.
