THE new­est busi­ness in Moss­man cater­ing for in­dige­nous and Tor­res Strait Is­landers’ needs with tra­di­tional and con­tem­po­rary goods is no stranger to the Far North.

Crow­tex Im­ports al­ready sup­plies shops in the Tor­res Strait and com­mu­nity stores through­out the Far North and has re­tail store in Cairns and the Table­lands.

Owner Rob Crowther said his motto is good qual­ity prod­ucts at good prices, and by cut­ting out the whole­salers he can pass on the sav­ings.

‘‘We sell what you can’t buy any­where else, it’s re­ally a hotch­potch of ev­ery­thing,’’ he said.

‘‘We have plas­tic mats from Thai­land, sweaters, Hawai­ian shirts, is­land dresses and skirts for Abo­rig­i­nal peo­ple and Mumu dresses.

‘‘Stuff for in­dige­nous fu­ner­als, sorry time suits and cloth­ing, Abo­rig­i­nal and TI flags, clothes for boys and girls, christening suits and dresses and a lot of Bob Mar­ley stuff.’’

Other items in­clude ar­ti­fi­cial flow­ers, hair clips, fab­rics, PNG mu­sic and DVDs.

Crow­tex Im­ports is open Mon­day to Fri­day from 8.30am4.30pm and Satur­day 8.30am12.30pm and can be found on at Shop 3, 22 Front St Moss­man.
