QUEENS­LAND’S young word­smiths have a chance to win $2000 with the launch of State Li­brary of Queens­lands Young Writ­ers Award 2013. This pres­ti­gious com­pe­ti­tion is open to Queens­land res­i­dents aged be­tween 18 and 25 look­ing for a kick-start to a lit­er­ary ca­reer. The Young Writ­ers Award is an an­nual short story com­pe­ti­tion for works of 2,500 words or less with a $2,000 in prize money to the win­ner.
