THERE is a lot to do, create and learn at the Douglas Arts Base with over 10 new courses starting soon.

Locals and visitors, to attend different courses and learn everything from sculpture, art and print-making to drawing botanical illustration and basket-making.

DAB member of 10 years Carol Edelberg said all of the teachers are highly qualified in their art and will help develop your creative side.

‘‘DAB offers a place for locals, tourists, artists and people wanting to have a go at being creative,’’ She said.

‘‘ I have been there for 10 years and there are constantly changing courses and tutors and right now it’s the best time to be involved.

‘‘DAB is at its peak, they have the best equipment, best tutors and such a variety on offer.’’

And you do not have to be the next Picasso to attend the courses, which are open to all levels of skills and experience.

‘‘Everyone has a creative side and it is a brilliant way to express yourself, whether you are good at art or not,’’ Ms Edelberg said.

‘‘I have seen people coming in who can draw a flat outline of a duck and two to three years later have created amazing art framed like you see hanging on walls, I love seeing that.’’
