Carnivale tee’d off

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FRONT PAGE -

THE annual Carnivale golf tournament was a success at the Mossman Golf Course and the Palmer Sea Reef with near perfect conditions and a good turn out of competitors.

The hackers and low handicappers converged on the courses on Sunday and Monday for a chance to win the overall first prize of two nights accommodation and two days golf at Palmer Coolum Resort on the Sunshine Coast.

The overall winning team for the two days was Bob The Builder consisting of Jim Dormer, Brett Dury, Jenny Sorensen and Phil Holloway with a score of 111.75.

Second place went to last year’s champions Josephines - Peter Watts, Michael Foley, Alan Wilson and Hugh Collins - on 117.5.

Third place went to Mossy Pros (P. Chrisfield, K. Copland, J. Hooker and R. Hooker) just trailing on 118.5.

General manager of Palmer Sea Reef David Roche said it was a great competition for all involved.

‘‘The event went well and was contested by all teams in the fun spirit that was intended.’’ he said.
