Jnr Crocs to play at home tomorrow

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - CLASSIFIEDS -

THE Under-10s Crocs headed to Trinity Beach on Sunday to take on the Bulldogs for the second time.

Despite a low number of players the ferocious Crocs showed extreme courage and stamina for the full four quarters.

It was great to see accuracy in front of goals, just scoring a couple of behinds with a total of seven majors.

The last quarter was a stand out with Goal sneak Jake ‘‘Jakeman’’ Sherwell snagging three goals with his mate Sam Wall spinning out of trouble and also scoring a major.

Other goal scores on the day from Scotty Cooper with two, and Nash ‘‘ The Dash’’ Thompson scoring as well.

Player of the day medal went to Jaimie Hudson for his hard running and teamwork.

Scotty and Jake took home the Macca’s awards for their efforts in front of goal, and as usual a consistent show of great skills.

THE Douglas Crocs Under-18s took on Cairns Hawks at Cazalys last Wednesday night.

The two teams where sharing second spot on the ladder with the winner to go a game ahead on points.

Hawks started the game well with some strong tackles and fast ball movement putting them ahead early.

Crocs players Josh, Brett, Jake and Art worked hard to keep their team in the game with the Hawks leading at half time by a goal.

The second half of the game the Cairns Hawks team moved the ball forward a lot more cleaner into their forward line than the Crocs who struggled to score when they got the ball forward.

In the end the Hawks deserved their win with the score Hawks 9-8-62 to Crocs 3-6-24.

Best for the Crocs Jackson Riley, Amani Anderson, Josh Harris, Mitch Bohm and James Berto.

This Friday the Crocs Under16s and Under-18s will play their second home game under lights..
