Run­ners for deadly fun

AROUND 60 peo­ple took part in the Moss­man Deadly Fun Run last Sun­day with the ma­jor­ity fin­ish­ing the race.

The aim of the 3.5km run/ walk from Moss­man hos­pi­tal to the Moss­man Gorge church was to en­cour­age peo­ple to adopt a health­ier lifestyle.

The win­ner for the ju­nior boys was Jai David with a time of 17mins 20secs ahead of Jay­den David (17m39s) and Melekai Wil­liams (21m53s).

Ju­nior girls win­ner was Vash­ness Wil­liams in 22m29s, with Shanna David ( 23m10s) in sec­ond and Natayah Bowen (25m06s) in third.

The se­nior women saw Toni Wienert (27m48m) take first, sec­ond place went to Marina Peter­son (28m04s) and third place to Taraha Peter­son (28m46s).

In the se­nior men first place was Wi­ley Thor­burn ( 18m50s), sec­ond place Timmy David (20m29s) and third place went to David Ni­cholls (26m31s).

The next and fi­nal fun run be­fore the Uluru com­mu­nity cham­pion se­lec­tion will be on Sun­day, June 16, start­ing from the Moss­man hos­pi­tal at 8am and ev­ery­one is wel­come to par­tic­i­pate.
