$359 million up 1 per cent Visitors to Australia from the UK market declined for the year-ending December 2012, reflecting the combined impacts of the economic situation, the London Olympic Games and the shift in holidays for the Diamond Jubilee. VFR and Business Event visitor numbers returned to positive growth. Visitor expenditure increased for the year ending December 2012, however visitor nights were down 1 per cent.. Encouragingly, industry feedback suggests that the January booking period started well for youth and mainstream operators, as well as some airlines.
