$38 mil­lion down 10 per cent The num­ber of out­bound trips rose 2 per cent to 421 mil­lion, fol­low­ing a 3 per cent in­crease in 2011. While the num­ber of overnight stays re­mained sta­ble at 3.5 bil­lion nights, out­bound travel ex­pen­di­tures rose 2 per cent to 353 bil­lion Euro. Long-haul des­ti­na­tions were pop­u­lar for Eu­ro­peans this year with a healthy 4 per cent in­crease in trips to over­seas des­ti­na­tions. Travel to the Amer­i­cas in­creased 2 per cent, how­ever the largest in­crease was to the Asia Pa­cific re­gion with 8 per cent.

38 per cent are aged 15-29, with 26 per cent aged 30-49, and 31 per cent aged 50-69

55 per cent are solo with 40 per cent trav­el­ling in pairs

40 per cent of Dutch vis­i­tors to Aus­tralia vis­ited Queens­land

Re­gions in Qld most vis­ited by Dutch vis­i­tors are Bris­bane and TNQ
