PORT Douglas will be one of several towns Australiawide to be gain inspiration today as a part of Inspiring Australia Day.
The purpose of an Inspiring Australia Day event is to allow successful locals to give back to the community by sharing their experiences, providing a platform for locals to catch up and inspire each other while also making new connections, inspiring a new generation of locals taking on big things in business both in the local area and beyond and to raise money for charity.
Fitness Paradise gym owner Teri Wilson is holding an event in Port Douglas ‘‘by inspirational locals, inspiring locals’’ and has chosen the Coral Deen fundraiser as his local charity for all the work she has done in the community.
‘‘Inspiring Australia Day Port Douglas is focussed on acknowledging some of the most inspirational people in Port Douglas and surrounding areas by sharing their story on what inspired them to become the inspirational person they are,’’ he said.
‘‘This event is all about sharing inspirational stories to benefit a local charity.
‘‘The goal of Inspiring Australia Day Port Douglas is to donate all funds raise to local inspiration Coral Deen who has been struck with cancer.
