Ride the rally

JULATTEN State School stu­dents and sup­port­ers are be­ing en­cour­aged to get on their bikes and ped­dle for their school and fun on Sun­day.

The Julatten State School P & C is hold­ing its bi-an­nual bike rally, a hugely suc­cess­ful rally for kids of all ages.

There are three dif­fer­ent start­ing points for dif­fer­ent age groups - the 11.3km ride from Eu­luma Creek Rd at Nine Mile end for Years 5, 6 and 7 stu­dents, the 8.7km ride from Pin­na­cle Rd ride for Years 2, 3 and 4 stu­dents and the 6.4km ride from Ras­mussen Rd for Prep and Year 1 stu­dents.

All par­tic­i­pants need be at the ap­pro­pri­ate start­ing point by 8.30am to reg­is­ter and Prep and Year 1 stu­dents be ac­com­pa­nied by an adult to par­tic­i­pate.

There will be mar­shals all along the route, in­clud­ing the lo­cal fire bri­gade bring­ing up the rear to en­sure all rid­ers com­plete the course safely.

Once back at Julatten School, there will be a sausage siz­zle for only $2, re­fresh­ments for $2 and a fun wa­ter slide, so kids need to bring a change of clothes.

All chil­dren will go in a draw to win a Mon­goose bike kindly do­nated by PD Bike­works. There will be prizes for best dec­o­rated bike for each age group with bike ac­ces­sories awarded as con­so­la­tion prizes back at the school.

The school will be us­ing monies raised to buy much- needed play­group equip­ment for both the lit­tle kids and big kids play ar­eas.

The ride costs $5 per child or $20 for fam­i­lies.
