Scott retains spot in the Club

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FRONT PAGE -

PORT Douglas real estate agent Matt Scott has retained his membership of the LJ Hooker Captain’s Club, ranking him in the top 15 per cent of real estate agents from LJ Hooker’s 700-plus offices throughout Australia and New Zealand.

It is the second consecutive year Matt has qualified for this elite group of performers and he is proud of his achievement.

‘‘In this market it has been a bit of a challenge which makes it all the more rewarding,’’ he said.

‘‘Personally, I would love to achieve life membership of the Captain’s Club, which would represent 11 consecutive years of qualification.

‘‘To remain in the top 15 per cent of LJ Hooker achievers for that period would be something to be very proud of.’’

Matt said there was no secret to success in real estate.

‘‘You just need to be upfront and honest in your communication between vendors and buyers,’’ he said.

‘‘If you can provide accurate facts and figures and work with the vendor to plan the best marketing strategy and set the right price and then have regular communications with the vendor and buyers then the hard work is done.’’

Matt said there were some encouraging signs in the local market with improved interest in all price brackets.

‘‘ In the past few months we’ve had instances of multiple offers on the same property which I haven’t seen for a few years as more lifestyle buyers re-enter the market,’’ he said.

LJ Hooker Port Douglas director Michael Samson said that this achievement is in recognition of Matt’s continued achievements in real estate sales over the past 12 months.

‘‘Matt Scott is one of the best in the LJ Hooker network with his high status reinforced through the exceptional sales results he has shown for his clients,’’ he said.

‘‘He is a great example of how sales property specialists should operate.’’
