THE mighty Under-8s Port Douglas Crocs steamed out of the blocks against the Hawks at the Crocpit on Sunday. The ball skills were amazing from Big Taj ‘‘Bootsma’’ Anderson, Luke ‘‘Judd’’ Pullan and big bad Jonte ‘‘Robertson’’ Revell and the aerial skills of Tyler ‘‘Walker’’ Anderson who took many strong grabs. Up forward Gus ‘‘Garlett’’ Gaske was slotting them through from everywhere and was well supported by game day captain Hayden ‘‘ Murphy’’ Caswell. First game player Dargan ‘‘Simpson’’ back from injury and providing plenty of spark little Taj ‘‘Gibbs’’ Uwland. Kalan ‘‘Lucas’’ Poole and Mr Smiley Jetson ‘‘Waite’’ Parry had great four quarter efforts. Down back and through the middle Ethan ‘‘Henderson’’ Scott worked his way into the game and the rebounding efforts of Jessiah ‘‘Armfield’’ St Pierre, Odhran ‘‘Tuohy’’ and Jai ‘‘McLean’’ Stapleton pleased the coaching staff with there defensive efforts. Coach’s awards went to Hayden, Jai, Tyler and little Taj. THE Under-10s Crocs had a game of the year performance against the Hawks at home last week. Both teams showed numerous occasions of outstanding skills and determination to get their team on the scoreboard. The Crocs were a little slow kicking goals in the first half with just one great goal from Slade. The third quarter was enjoyed by all with Jake and Daniel snagging two goals each for the quarter. Goal of the game went to Dalton with a running and mark, followed with a nice straight kick through the two sticks. Player of the day medal went to Daniel Harrington for improving every week. Macca’s awards were gobbled up by Dalton Wall and Slade ‘‘The Snake’’ Roberts. A bonus Macca’s footy was also handed
out to Tam Nguyen for his hard running and teamwork. THE Under-14s Crocs played a great game of football on Sunday. They were unfortunate not to win against Hawkes with the final score 3.5.23 to 5.6.36. At half time the scores were level with Braydon Wall and Charlie Burns fantastic in defence. Jye West also played one of his best games with some great handballing. Goalscorers were Ben Muia, Tully Cartwright and Corey Tate. Finn Cameron went off after a spectacular clash but luckily he was okay. Best players were Braydon Wall, Drew Bayne, Hugo Walker and Ben Muia, Jye West. THE Crocs Under-18s took on Centrals at home under lights on Friday night. The Crocs started the game at a fast pace with a goal on the board in the first seconds. Michael Pidgeon proved to be a solid target up forward bagging six goals for the night. New player Josh Morrison dominated around the ground along with Sam Teakle, Alex Forbes and the hard running brothers Michael and Brett McKeown. With Liam Edwards starting in the ruck provided our mid field players Ashley Davidson, Jake Muia, Art Adamson and Aaron Marks plenty of ball. Crocs forward players Jack Lowe, Chaysely Nandy and Jackson Riley where again proving elusive in front of goal the team came away with a well deserved win in front of their home crowd. Final scores were Crocs 17.11.118 defeated Centrals 7.1.43. Goalscorers were Michael Pidgeon 6, Chaysely Nandy 3, Alex Forbes 2, Jack Lowe, Michael McKeown, Josh Morrison, Amani Anderson, Braden Laurin and Art Adamson.
