Having a toss may not seem that unusual to some people. Horseshoes is an outdoor game played between two people (or two teams of two people) using four horseshoes and two throwing targets (stakes) set in a sandbox area. The game is played by the players alternating turns tossing horseshoes at stakes in the ground. This is a classic example of an old-fashioned pastime that has turned itself into a organised and very competitive sport, played around the world (though mostly in the USA). Obviously there were no such things as Playstations, Xboxes or even Ataris back in the day. But tossing a horse shoe over a stake?
