Raising the bar for full moon
AFTER the success of the last full moon party at the Marina, the second instalment is taking place on Saturday, September 21.
Organised by Lure Restaurant and Bar, the boardwalk will be once again take on the full moon party atmosphere and be transformed with glow sticks, wigs and fluorescent lights.
Three DJs - Heidi Camilleri, DMH and DJ Bart - will play the very best beats to ensure party-goers can dance the night away under the bright moon.
Projected images will flash in between towers of speakers delivering pulsating dance tracks.
To complete the party experience, dancing girls covered in glow body paint and fire twirlers will add to the full moon party vibe.
Food will be available all night for those wanting a snack break with phat thai and curries guaranteed to make the mouth water.
In the Thai full moon party tradition, drinks can be consumed from a ‘‘bucket’’ and body-painting is available to make you really ‘‘glow’’ with professional face painters on hand to make you stand out from the crowd.
Lure Restaurant and Bar co-owner and organiser Wayne Stapleton said the event will be bigger and better.
‘‘After the last full moon party, we are anticipating large numbers,’’ he said.
‘‘We have doubled everything this time.
‘‘There will be four bars, extra staff, more speakers, more lighting, three podium dancers, a UV painting booth and a cash prize for the best dressed and best body painted.
‘‘People are looking for something different and if these party’s continue to be a success, they will just keep getting bigger and better.’’
The party begins at 7pm and will go until late.
