Rais­ing the bar for full moon

AF­TER the suc­cess of the last full moon party at the Ma­rina, the sec­ond in­stal­ment is tak­ing place on Satur­day, Septem­ber 21.

Or­gan­ised by Lure Restau­rant and Bar, the board­walk will be once again take on the full moon party at­mos­phere and be trans­formed with glow sticks, wigs and flu­o­res­cent lights.

Three DJs - Heidi Camil­leri, DMH and DJ Bart - will play the very best beats to en­sure party-go­ers can dance the night away un­der the bright moon.

Pro­jected im­ages will flash in be­tween tow­ers of speak­ers de­liv­er­ing pul­sat­ing dance tracks.

To com­plete the party ex­pe­ri­ence, danc­ing girls cov­ered in glow body paint and fire twirlers will add to the full moon party vibe.

Food will be avail­able all night for those want­ing a snack break with phat thai and cur­ries guar­an­teed to make the mouth wa­ter.

In the Thai full moon party tra­di­tion, drinks can be con­sumed from a ‘‘bucket’’ and body-paint­ing is avail­able to make you re­ally ‘‘glow’’ with pro­fes­sional face painters on hand to make you stand out from the crowd.

Lure Restau­rant and Bar co-owner and or­gan­iser Wayne Sta­ple­ton said the event will be big­ger and bet­ter.

‘‘Af­ter the last full moon party, we are an­tic­i­pat­ing large num­bers,’’ he said.

‘‘We have dou­bled ev­ery­thing this time.

‘‘There will be four bars, ex­tra staff, more speak­ers, more light­ing, three podium dancers, a UV paint­ing booth and a cash prize for the best dressed and best body painted.

‘‘Peo­ple are look­ing for some­thing dif­fer­ent and if th­ese party’s con­tinue to be a suc­cess, they will just keep get­ting big­ger and bet­ter.’’

The party be­gins at 7pm and will go un­til late.
