According to the REIQ data, the median prices of units and townhouses in port Douglas declined by 15.5 per cent in the year to June. A look at the 32 sales recorded reveals that the median sale price fell from $210,000 in June 2012 to $177,500 last June.
In this region, the worst performer for units was Earlville, which suffered a 20.9 per cent price drop over the year to June. The best growth, with a rise of 35.4 per cent, was posted by Woree coming off a low base to reach a median price of $107,000.
Other poor performers included Trinity Beach, Earlville and Westcourt.
