Ac­cord­ing to the REIQ data, the me­dian prices of units and townhouses in port Dou­glas de­clined by 15.5 per cent in the year to June. A look at the 32 sales recorded re­veals that the me­dian sale price fell from $210,000 in June 2012 to $177,500 last June.

In this re­gion, the worst per­former for units was Ear­lville, which suf­fered a 20.9 per cent price drop over the year to June. The best growth, with a rise of 35.4 per cent, was posted by Woree com­ing off a low base to reach a me­dian price of $107,000.

Other poor per­form­ers in­cluded Trin­ity Beach, Ear­lville and West­court.
