THE Aus­tralian Tourism Ex­port Coun­cil (ATEC) is the peak in­dus­try body rep­re­sent­ing Aus­tralia’s $30 bil­lion tourism ex­port sec­tor. ATEC rep­re­sents more than 800 mem­bers across Aus­tralia in­clud­ing large national and multi­na­tional com­pa­nies as well as small- and medi­um­sized en­ter­prises, many of whom are based in re­gional and re­mote parts of Aus­tralia.

Our mem­bers in­clude in­bound tour op­er­a­tors and on­line dis­trib­u­tors who con­nect Aus­tralian tourism prod­ucts with vi­tal dis­tri­bu­tion chan­nels in key over­seas mar­kets. Young ATEC (YATEC) was es­tab­lished to en­cour­age young pro­fes­sion­als in the tourism in­dus­try to par­tic­i­pate in events and voice their con­cerns on is­sues that af­fect the fu­ture of tourism ex­ports.

Young ATEC is made up of ATEC mem­bers un­der the age of 35 who are in­ter­ested in fur­ther­ing their ca­reers in the tourism in­dus­try. Mem­bers are given the op­por­tu­nity to par­tic­i­pate in a va­ri­ety of branch based Ed­u­ca­tional sem­i­nar and net­work­ing events. Young ATEC mem­ber­ship is free and i s ex­clu­sive to em­ploy­ees of ATEC mem­ber com­pa­nies so why not join and take ad­van­tage of the var­i­ous ben­e­fits and op­por­tu­ni­ties we of­fer. YATEC Nth QLD branch is com­ing to Port Dou­glas on Fri­day 11 Oc­to­ber and hold­ing an event to in­form peo­ple of the op­por­tu­nity pre­sented by YATEC.
