Food back on at the Mossman Golf Club

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - FRONT PAGE -

IT has been a while since there has been food available at Mossman Golf club, but that will change on Wednesday with the opening of Nine and Dine. The club, with seating for 60-80 people, is licenced and has a small wine selec- tion. All the liquor is at club prices. restaurateur Garry Mason says the fare is simple but high quality, with most of the main courses priced in the low 20s. While retaining old favourites like steak, barramundi fish and chips, there is a bit of everything from pasta to Thai curries. ‘‘Everyone should be able to find something they like and that includes vegetarians,’’ he says. Entrees start with soup at $8 through to an Asian inspired salad topped with grilled prawn skewers at $16. A lot of the entrees have a light feel with Asian flavours. There are just a few desserts, the highlight being the chef’s famous sticky date and walnut pudding, served with hot caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream.
