Avoid myth understandings by knowing the market

WITH the spring selling season now upon us, Selling Homes Australia host and property advocate Andrew Winter says there are many myths about the property market that make it even harder to wade through the process.

He reckons one of the best ways to come through the selling process unscathed is to seek professional advice.

He says many sellers thought they didn’t need a real estate agent and could do it all themselves.

‘‘I was a real estate agent for nearly 25 years; nevertheless, when I sold our family home a few years ago, I used an agent,’’ he says.

‘‘The main motivation was because I wanted a third party to negotiate on my behalf. The negotiations are the crucial bit that you absolutely have to get right.’’
