Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - CLASSIFIEDS -

FOUR teams, two titles, one day of epic competition.

The 2013 Port Douglas Pool Competition champions were named after Sunday’s nail-biting grand final showdown at the Court House Hotel.

Tavern two met Cocos two in the B-grade grand final, where they had a convincing win.

The Yacht Club met Rattle and Hum for the prestigious A-grade grand final, a match up that has been played out many times over the years.

Rattle and Hum had beaten the Yacht Club all three times they had encountered each other this year.

But in typical pub pool competition, winners could not be guessed at and the Yacht Club came out in front and regained the championship award.

Graham Haigh was named singles men’s champion while Amy Steven took the women’s champion title.

All those who had played at l east five games over the season were invited to join in the celebration, enjoying drinks and food around the pool table.

CHAMPIONS: Matt Redding, Steve Hughes, Neil Churchill, Craig Brown, Chris Schiel, Laza Woodall and Neil Weavers of the Yacht Club team
