Hi Tide presents Tasmania in the Tropics, wines by Brown Bros
A TASTE of Tasmania is coming to Port Douglas in the form of a special winemaker’s dinner at the Hi Tide restaurant tonight, October 3. Called ‘‘Tasmania in the Tropics’’, the evening will feature a five- course meal complemented by wines chosen and presented by Ross Brown, of Brown Bros. It’s the first time this venue has presented a wine night. ‘‘It should be really good,’’ said manager Jeremy Parer. Guests will be seated on the outside deck just across from the beach on the Esplanade. The venue’s owners, Sheryn and Phil Blundstone, have strong Tasmanian connections, one of the reasons behind the idea of presenting something different in the way of cuisine not common in the tropics. Also on hand for the evening is Tim Whybrow, a singer/songwriter who has scored success on YouTube. To book, phone 4099 9100. With sufficient demand, the evening will be repeated on Friday, October 4.
