ONLINE lender has Australia’s "Cheapest Home Loans", according to an independent poll of over 28,000 Australian banking and finance customers by comparison site

Mozo this week announced the winners of its 2013 Mozo People’s Choice Awards, which it bills as ‘‘the only banking and finance awards judged by customers’’.

The awards, now in its fourth year, invited Australian finance industry customers to rate the products and services of more than 150 of the nation’s best financial institutions.

More than 28,000 customers ranked banks, credit unions, building societies and insurances providers in categories such as overall satisfaction, price, features, customer service, convenience and trust. won the title of Australia’s Cheapest Home Loans, and was runner-up for Australia’s Best Home Loans. has variable home loans rates from 4.49 per cent (5.51 per cent comparison rate).

Managing director Marie Mortimer thanked Australian home loan customers for recognising that had very low interest rates on home loans.

‘‘If you are not yet a customer this could be a good time to compare interest rates to ensure that you are not paying too much,’’ she said.

‘‘We have interest rates on par with rates in Australia during the 1950s. These awards are always a good reminder for people to consider their loans and decide whether they are paying too much.’’

Ms Mortimer said 2013 was a great year for, which had also won six gold medals and the title of 2013 Non-Bank Lender of the Year in the Australian Home Loan Awards.
