Hayden D’Addona 16 Douglas Muddies

Port Douglas & Mossman Gazette - - CLASSIFIEDS -

When did you start playing cricket? I started playing when I was about 7 in the Have A Go program. I did that for a couple of years and then went to the under 11s for the Muddies and have worked up the age groups to the seniors. How did you get involved with cricket? I was asked to play for the Muddies because they didn’t have enough numbers. I played a season and really loved it, plus heaps of my friends were playing too. What is the best thing about the sport? For me it is scoring runs and just having fun on the field. Enjoying the game with friends and a win is always good, it just tops off a good day. What is the worst? As a batter when I am playing reps and I come up against some really fast bowlers. It makes for some tough competition. Batting, bowling or fielding? Batting, all rounder. My favourite shot is a cut shot. Favourite bowling technique? Medium pace/leg spin. Cricket aspirations? I will probably play cricket in clubs wherever I end up in life. Favourite team mate? Ethan and Kaiden. We have good fun and they are great players, we have a laugh and the game is always interesting. Why should people consider playing cricket? It is a great social sport. And there is always good competition and there is a high standard of players up here.
