Drivers getting distracted by their mobile phones
QUEENSLAND drivers are being urged to focus on the road while driving, after it was revealed one in four still use their mobile phone while at the wheel.
A recent survey of 500 Queensland drivers by NRMA Insurance also revealed that 90 per cent were texting and reading emails, 45 per cent are updating their Facebook status or tweeting, over 50 per cent are playing games and 75 per cent are taking photos.
NRMA said the results are concerning that drivers are ignoring safety warning and losing focus while behind the wheel.
Even if it’s only for a split second, losing focus may cause a driver to have a collision and endanger lives of others on the road.
