AS Christmas and the warmer weather approaches, locals know where to go to sit back in the shade with a cold drink, cooling sea breezes, beautiful views out to the blue Coral Sea and the white sands of Four Mile Beach.
Peninsula Boutique Hotel’s oceanfront restaurant Hi Tide is the local’s ‘‘best kept secret’’.
Breakfast is served until noon, with the menu including their own unique vegetable hash browns, eggs benedict, florentines and decadent smoked salmon eggs royale drizzled with homemade hollandaise sauce.
‘‘At midday we drift into lunch and the Coral Sea lights up - a beautiful view we are proud of,’’ manager Jeremy Parer said.
Hi Tide changes its dinner menu with popular themes, which include seafood night on Tuesdays, locally famous curry nights on Wednesday and Surf ’n Turf nights on Friday with a tempting a-lacarte menu always available.
‘‘The front deck is peaceful, with magnificent views, great food, drinks and $10 sunset cocktails between 4.30pm - 6pm,’’ said Jeremy.
