START­ING Satur­day, Oc­to­ber 26, fourhour med­i­ta­tion ses­sions will oc­cupy the Port Dou­glas Neigh­bour­hood Cen­tre.

An­drea Col­lis­son, pres­i­dent and founder of the group of med­i­ta­tors, is hop­ing to start once-a-month ses­sions on Satur­day morn­ings for ea­ger med­i­ta­tors to come and prac­tise ‘‘silent and pas­sion­ate med­i­ta­tion’’ with the rest of the group. ‘‘There is more of a com­mit­ment when you med­i­tate with other peo­ple,’’ An­drea says. If there is enough in­ter­est, the ses­sions will be on from 9am - 1pm on se­lected Satur­days for ex­pe­ri­enced med­i­ta­tors. If you’re a first-timer, it is rec­om­mended you at­tend at least one of the shorter, guided classes on Fri­day nights be­fore at­tend­ing the longer ses­sions. There is a $5 dona­tion to at­tend and any­one in­ter­ested in ei­ther ses­sions should con­tact An­dera Col­lis­son on 4098 5358.
