Ally Hiscock 14 Douglas Shire Motor Sports Association
NAME: AGE: CLUB:
How long have you been in the club? I only went to the last meet on the weekend and loved it, so I joined the club. Why did you decide to give it a try? My neighbour does it. His dad is an awesome driver and was a rally champion. Their family always go up, so I went with them and just loved it. I had so much fun. What is your favourite part of motorkhana? I really loved watching it and seeing people’s t i mes. Especially the older people to see how good they can drive and how fast they go. What is the worst thing? It was my first time there, so I was really scared and nervous that I would do something wrong. It felt like there were heaps of people watching me, which just made me more nervous. Did you have any embarrassing moments? When I was driving back to the garage I stalled the car. Everyone laughed and I had to start the car again and keep moving. Do you have a favourite person in the club? I got to meet everyone and they were all so nice and welcoming so it’s hard to pick one. Bob was in the car with me directing, giving me driving advice and keeping me calm. I really enjoyed his company and I liked watching him drive. Best time on the track? They changed the course a few times so I’m not sure of my best time, but I did get third overall and got a trophy. When is the next event? It is once a month, so I hope to go again next month. Future plans for the sport? I just want to keep driving at the club and improve my skills. Do you think it will make you a better driver when it comes to getting your licence? I think it definitley will. Even after only one day driving I feel I learnt a lot. I think it is good experience for anyone. Why should people join? It is a really good, fun day out. Not only do you get to drive but it’s also fun to watch other people compete and try to beat their times. It develops some healthy competition, you learn new skills and get to meet some really nice people.
